Join us at the Winter 2024 Open House Celebration Sunday, December 3

A Message From Our Executive Director

As we begin the holiday season, Brentwood Art Center has much to be grateful for. This has been an incredible year for BAC, a year of great change and new beginnings. We completed our renovation, moved in to the new space, and resumed nearly a full schedule of in-person classes and outreach programming. The Center is only here today because of our incredible students, families, and community members who support our mission of providing equitable access to the visual arts for diverse students of all ages. Thank you!

While reflecting on the past year, I am also especially impressed and inspired by the commitment of BAC’s Board, faculty members, and staff - for sustaining the Center, and the monumental task of returning to a brick and mortar space and in-person programming.

BAC reopened its doors at a new Santa Monica location in April 2023, ramping up its offerings, and expanding facilities for optimal in-person arts instruction and programming in all areas of the visual arts. BAC’s beautiful new campus boasts 7,400 square feet of flexible space including 8 new art studio / classrooms for creating and making, abundant parking, as well as proximity to a Metro stop, 18th Street Art Center, and Crossroads school.

We invite the entire community to visit the Center at our upcoming Winter 2024 Open House and Celebration on Sunday, December 3, from 2:00 - 5:00pm. Come tour the new space, enjoy free art activities, see the faculty art exhibition, and meet BAC’s instructors and staff!

Established in 1971, Brentwood Art Center has a wonderful 52-year history of pursuing and achieving the highest artistic standards. Since becoming a nonprofit organization in 2012, the Center stands more dedicated than ever to fostering a learning environment that encourages creative self-expression, develops traditional skills, reflects innovative ideas, and is sensitive to the needs of the individual and the dynamics of the group.

Brentwood Art Center provides an exceptional visual arts education for diverse students of all ages, backgrounds, and experiences through in-person and online learning led by outstanding faculty. BAC provides equitable community access to arts programming throughout the greater Los Angeles region. Courses are small and individualized, while focusing on the artistic development of each student. Our instructors are dedicated teaching artists whose goal is to inspire each student, while integrating process and product, concept and skill, and creativity and structure.
