Instructor: Gary Paller
Join expert artist, Gary Paller, for this special one-night only opportunity to learn to paint in the style of Milton Avery. Workshop focuses on the artist’s unique use of bright, bold color, simplified shapes, and flattening of forms. Students will aim to create works that utilize color and pattern in Avery's minimalist manner.
Using acrylic paints of vibrant, saturated color we'll explore how to make poetic compositions of simplified figures and/or landscapes in the manner of the artist who, though being a good friend and mentor of Mark Rothko, rarely swayed from representational subject matter.
Materials and supplies will be provided.
