Join award-winning children’s book illustrator and writer, Deborah Nourse Lattimore for this ten-week course. The author-illustrator of nearly 40 storybooks, Deborah will guide you through the steps of creating and publishing your own unique idea. Course covers how to write and illustrate your own storybook including gearing stories for different age groups; character and plot development; choice of setting; and use of tone, pacing, and atmosphere. Also explores use of materials, techniques, color, and emotion to create amazing picture books for children. Includes practical knowledge to get your book published. All levels welcome!

Location: This is an in-person class taking place at the new BAC campus located in Santa Monica at

1625 Olympic Blvd., Santa Monica, CA. LINK TO MAP.

Transportation and Parking: Centrally located for easy access from all over Los Angeles County, BAC is only a 5-minute walk from the E Line (Expo) Metro Rail station exit off of 17th/SMC. The Center has a small parking lot located right in front of the buildings entrance. If parking is unavailable in the lot there is 2, 3 and 9-hour metered street parking in the area.
