In this course, students create works combining various materials such as magazine clippings, paper, fabric, paint, and other ephemera to create dynamically themed compositions. Each project introduces a contemporary artist as inspiration, as students build works based on themed subject matter.
Every student creates a unique collage for each project, while having opportunities to share their work throughout the course. Examples of past themes include home environments, vases with flowers, portraits, street life scenes, and perspective mosaics.
