Handbuilding for Kids: 7-12 (In-Person)

This class will focus in the fundamentals of working with clay using sculpting techniques like imprinting, pinching, coiling and slab construction. Students will create their artworks using their imagination and apply the demonstrations only as tools of their vision. Students then will decorate their pieces using colorful ceramics glazes.

Clay will be available for purchase directly from BAC.

Students are invited to use the communal studio tools: sponges, wooden skewers, serrated ribs, and brushes.

Required Ceramics Lab Fee: $28

Location: This is an in-person class taking place at the new BAC campus located in Santa Monica at

1625 Olympic Blvd., Santa Monica, CA. LINK TO MAP

Transportation and Parking: Centrally located for easy access from all over Los Angeles County, BAC is only a 5-minute walk from the E Line (Expo) Metro Rail station exit off of 17th/SMC. The Center has a small parking lot located right in front of the buildings entrance. If parking is unavailable in the lot there is 2, 3 and 9-hour metered street parking in the area.
