Believe it or not – “Researchers estimate that most humans can see around one million different colors. This is because a healthy human eye has three types of cone cells, each of which can register about 100 different color shades, amounting to around a million combinations.” (Pantone)
This one-day workshop is designed for beginners through intermediate level artists interested in gaining a greater understanding of color by learning simple color mixing techniques and the key elements that go into making a great painting or artwork, and covers how to mix almost any hue and use color to create a balanced composition. There will be different exercises to choose from, or students may want to create their own artwork, or re-work an existing painting.
Demonstrations will be done in acrylics. However, if students prefer they may bring pastels, colored pencils, or any other water-based medium.
