Instructor: Jackie Glosman
In this class, students take inspiration from animals including lions, tigers, and bears -- oh my! Projects are grounded in the fundamentals of artmaking including use of line, shape, composition, value, and color. Course explores the work of traditional and contemporary artists whose images capture the likeness and spirit of animals of all shapes and sizes.
Special attention is given to the art of British children's book illustrator, Brain Wildsmith, taking note of his whimsical animal portrayals and deeply moving color palettes.
