Instructor: Trenton Reynolds
In this hands-on course, students learn techniques used by the monumental art movements that changed the future of art. Known for their experimental use of color, light, brushstroke, and gesture, this course explores techniques used by artists such as Monet, Matisse, and Pissarro, as well as California Impressionists Wendt, Rose, and Payne.
Through demonstration, class discussion, and critique, students create hands-on works while exploring color mixing, paint handling, brushstroke, composition, and use of color to create depth and atmospheric perspective. Instructor provides weekly assignments. All levels are welcome.
