Instructor: Sumire Kudo
In this class, students learn to draw dynamic figures. Students explore classical and contemporary figure drawing techniques including use of gesture drawing in the development of the human form. Emphasis is placed upon observation, line quality, and volume of form. Students work towards the goal of drawing a stance while capturing the model's unique personality. The course concentrates on short poses while using graphite, charcoal, and Conté.
Location: This is an in-person class taking place at the new BAC campus located in Santa Monica at
1625 Olympic Blvd., Santa Monica, CA. LINK TO MAP.
Transportation and Parking: Centrally located for easy access from all over Los Angeles County, BAC is only a 5-minute walk from the E Line (Expo) Metro Rail station exit off of 17th/SMC. The Center has a small parking lot located right in front of the buildings entrance. If parking is unavailable in the lot there is 2, 3 and 9-hour metered street parking in the area.
